Working with Images!
I really enjoyed working with digital images during the last class session. I learned about a very handy phenomenon called "screenshot" that allows you to take a picture of anything on your screen. You can then crop the section of the image that you want to keep and use. I have already used this tool for another class. It's very useful. We also learned how to make a digital slide show using the Picasa tool, and how to embed it on to a blog, website, etc. Collecting images from a cd collection and from free sources on the web was also a useful activity as I can teach my students to gain images for projects in a similar manner. We also had the opportunity to use a scanner and a camera and practice uploading pictures/images to a computer. Overall, the class was a good refresher on how to work with images obtained from various sources. I can use these tools with students in any general education or ESL classroom.
