Photo Scavenger Hunt
Today we got to do some hands-on work in a photo scavenger hunt. The class was divided into themes and my group had "colors." We had the opportunity to walk around campus and take pictures of objects that represented various colors. We then came back, loaded the pictures onto the computer, cropped and re-sized them, then put them into a presentation using Google docs. I really enjoyed this activity and think that it is a great way to incorporate various aspects of technology into the classroom. Photo scavenger hunts can be used for many different topic areas and are a way for students to get up out of their chairs and moving around. An activity of this sort can be done in groups or individually. I'd like to make use of an activity like this in the ESL classroom. Students will come up with different versions of a theme and it will be interesting to see how each student interprets the different assignments.
